Improvement

Over the past to years I have improved my writing skills before I had a really bad grammar and spelling problem. Now I don’t have it has bad, and I am learning to change that. My reading skills were alright and now I have learned why they were bad and because of that reason I still don’t like reading out loud it hard for me. I have always had some what of good speaking skills, even though I don’t like speaking in front of people. I don’t like working in a group but I manage I feel like I become a leader more when I get into a group. I had poor technology skills but I had learned a lot since I have been in high school, and I feel that they can continue to improve with help. I will work on all of my class work and homework and I will try not to procrastinate and get my work done on time, I think that it will make my life easier.

Portfolio - Future

I feel excellent about my future actually I am really excited to see what happens. My most major goal is to go Cal State Los Angles and actually graduate in the four years with out getting pregnant. I want to study Sports Medicine I realized that this is a lot of schooling, but I wanted to go into the medical field when I was in the 7th grade. I have had ankle injuries and knee injuries also I love telling people when they have injuries what to do for example to ice something when it is swollen, I tell some football players that and they just blow me off but I think I know a little bit of what I am talking about. Also on a hot day I know that if you exercise and get a head ache it is more than likely because of dehydration, but again they don’t listen to me. I love biology and the human body which makes this interesting for me. I need to continue to work on Science like Chemistry, Math and English. I think that SPA in general will help me also
Ms. Priester, Ms. Davis, Ms. Ramiez, and Mr. Fenick, and I say these teachers because they are the teachers that will help me the most in English, Science, and Math. I honestly genuinely believe that I will this major goal because I feel that the only thing that would ever stop me is if I get pregnant other than that I am okay. I don’t think that I will become too much of a party animal when I enter college, also I don’t imagine myself becoming addicted on drug and letting my hope and dreams slip away. I am a very dedicated person and I have a no doubt that wont get what I truly want.

Greatest Highschool Accomplishment

My Greatest Accomplishment in high school is achieving a 2.67 GPA or higher for two or more quarters. I say that it is my greatest high school accomplishment because I have worked really hard in all of my classes. I really want to go to a four year University, and I need to start doing better if the is what I really want. If not I will go to a two year community college and transfer to a four year. I feel that education is important because out of everything no one in the world can take education away from a person. I really want to get a good job and b able to support my self and when I get ready my family. I don’t want to be like my parents who have to work two jobs to be able to pay the rent and stuff. I feel that this is my accomplishment because it is a push towards my future. It is getting me closer to breaking the cycle. Now all I have to do is wait till I am done with college and get married before I get pregnant and then I will really break the cycle.

Portfolio - My Educational Experiences

Due to my educational experience, I am currently in the right grade, or higher grade and learning the things that I should. I started a year early by going to head start. In the 3rd grade I stopped my speech classes, and I tested high on my reading scores. Also in 6th – 8th grade I got good academic reports from my teachers for trying hard even though I went to two different schools. I feel that even though I switched schools I was never taken away from my education, because I really only switch half of 5th grade. My 6th grade I went to a school for a full year even though I moved houses I didn’t move schools. My 7th grade year I came here two weeks before my school started and a week after the school here started so I still don’t think that I missed much. As of now I just try to focus in my classes and do the best I can and try to go above in certain classes

End of Year Reflection – Greatest High School Obstacle

My greatest obstacle over the past two years have mainly been my grades. I say that because I have always had a hard time with keeping a 3.0 gpa, I can easily get a 2.67 but for me it was hard. I think that the class that I have the most problems in is Spanish and I say that because, ever since freshman year I have been having a problem. I don’t understand it and it frustrates me, but I try. Like now has of the moment I have so much Spanish work that I need to do and it so hard I hear it and I know a little bit but I just can’t comprehend it.

CST Testing Reflection

So far I finished most of the CSTs and I have to say that in some parts like, math and world history I had more problems with, but English not to kiss up or anything but I felt more prepared for the things that were coming. In the math part I was some what prepared and then there were some equations that I just didn’t understand, but Mr. Fenick said that it was because we didn’t go over that part yet in our class. Today was World History and I have to say I was the least prepared for that because it was only some things that I knew, the rest I really didn’t know, but I think that it was because we changed teachers so many times, I just hope that next year will be better because I felt not ready for this test

Third Quarter Awards Review

On Friday around 11:30 at San Pasqual Academy, all the kids at San Pasqual went to an Awards Assembly in the auditorium, the awards assembly was for, academic, citizenship, and a ton of other things. A part of the assembly that I remember was when I was called up for my award for having between a 3.0 to a 3.4, I was really excited and it made me happy. Another time in the assembly that I was really happy in was when Ms. Davis, gave me an award for most improved student of the quarter. At one pert in the assembly I was upset because I try really hard and I felt unappreciated and it made me want to cry. Also another part I remember is when this kid got an award form the friends of San Pasqual, it surprised me because I honestly didn’t feel that he deserved it and I didn’t think that he has been here long enough to even really know that friends of San Pasqual, I mean has he even been here for a year yet? Over all I liked the awards assembly and I think that the next one will just continue to get even better.

Fourth Quarter Kickoff Reflection

I woke up got dressed went to breakfast, and then went to school. At school all of the sophomores had to meet in one classroom. In the classroom we watched the movie a “Stand and Deliver”. I was an okay movie it was actually kind of boring. Then we split into our teams after lunch. It was pretty fun my team was the best. But I got injured in every sport I played in. The first sport I played I cut my finger, in the second sport someone’s knee ran full force into my knee, and the third sport I got scratched on my arm some how. But over all it was a fun day I wonder who won, my team was the best but we didn’t play team 1 and or team 6. I think that my team would have won!

Fourth Quarter Goals

My greatest accomplishment of the last quarter was receiving only one C for the report card. Some things I did were turn in all of my work, I had my teachers keep updating me with my grades and missing work so that I could turn them in before it was too late.
My goal this quarter is to get at least a 3.5, I want to go for a 4.0. Three things that I will do to accomplish these goals are:
1. I will continue to have my teachers update me on my grades and missing work.
2. I will pay more attention in class and take more notes when it is necessary.
3. I will study more and ask questions if I need to also ask for extra help.

What I Learned in the Third Quarter of English 9/10

This quarter I have learned a lot, some of the things that I have learned about are symbolism, allegory, poetry, imagery, figurative language, primary and secondary sources. My favorite subject is poetry. I would have to say that because I love to write poetry. I love writing how I feel it is a good coping skill. But with poetry I also use figurative language which is a way that I use two of the things that I learned this quarter. I love to use imagery it helps people see things from a different light. Imagery is used a lot in song to help people imagine what people may be going through, thorough out a song or poem, or story.

CAHSEE Reflection

Today was super crazy so much going through my mind all at once, it was over whelming. At first, I was a scared and nervous because I felt so much pressure, but when I got the test in front of me I realized that it wasn’t that hard. When I got to the writing portion I felt so prepared, because I knew what I had to do and I felt really good about it. I really have a lot of thanks for the most important person who helped me Ms.Priester, thank you so much for helping me prepare for this test. Over all I think I did a pretty good job now tomorrow is the part I think I am going to do my best on. I love math. I just hope that with my dyslexia I didn’t mess up on the test. I tried to take my time and re-read things if I didn’t understand. The only thing I can do now is sit and wait to see what my score is.

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Enlist Paragraph

If I had to I would enlist in the military, but if it wasn’t mandatory then I wouldn’t. I would enlist in the military for school if I need them to pay for my education and I am doing what I need to do so that I wouldn’t have to do it. I feel that people who enlist in the military deserve to be treated with respect and they deserve to be able to come back and have jobs for them and shouldn’t have to wait to pay for their family. If I were drafted into the military then I would go and serve my country to the best of my abilities hope not to die.

Feelings about the CAHSEE

AHHHHHHHHHHH! My feelings on the CAHSEE are crazy. I really want to scream, and pull out my hair. I am so scared that I won’t pass, and I will have to take it over and over again. I feel like I am going let a lot of people down and I can’t do that. I have tried talking to people like my other classmates and friends and they tell me that I am going to do fine and pass it, but then I realized that my classmate were going through the same thing that I was and it made me feel al little better. But still I am nervous and also excited, because I have people telling me that it is easy and its all eighth grade math, so I think I will do fine with that and I will try my best to pass but I am not going to stress about it because I know that I have what it takes to pass it and I know that most of my friends will be there with me so it will make it a little easier.

Reflection Paragraph

Teaching the class today was a good but different experience. I say that because first I don’t really like standing in front of people speaking, and I had to read which I dislike with a passion. I feel that it was I did a pretty good job for my first time teaching, but I felt a little embarrassed because the links and things didn’t go the way that I wanted them to. Thanks to my group and my knowledge we switched the assignment into something different and kept the project going. Over all I think that this was a good assignment, I like this project and I think that we should do it more often because it will help us, as a class be better at presenting in front of people.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection

I have three goals for this quarter. One of my goals for the quarter is to get at least a 3.0 I really want to go for a 3.5 or 4.0. I feel that I can go far if I just put my mind to it and don’t get off track. My second goal is to stay out of drama because being on a campus with 164 kids it can get very hard to stay out of drama but it is not impossible. My third goal is to not get on restriction and stay on the straight path that I am on. I know that doing these things will be hard but they are something that I know that I can do. Some things that I have done to start achieving these goals are turning in all of my work and staying in class as much as possible with out having appointments. Also I have done the best on all of my homework assignment and I have been asking if I need help with something I am really going for A’s and B’s. I need to stay more focus when doing my homework and pay more attention in class and prioritize between work, sports, and school. I have a feeling that once basketball season is over I will be able to achieve these goals better. At the end of the quarter I want to be able to look at my report card and be able to say that I did it that was able to achieve my goal.

Poetry Experience Paragraph

Studying poetry is one of my favorite subjects to learn in school. In poetry there are so many things to learn, like rhythm, and rhyme schemes, and symbolism, I feel that every poem has a meaning and there was a reason why the writer wrote the poem. In the past I have studied poetry in many different ways like reading and analyzing poems, to creating one of my own for school. I love to write out my feeling that is a way I express myself. So I love to write my own poetry and I love reading others because I feel that I can relate to some of the poem that I read. I sometimes feel that I can be feeling something and look on the internet and have someone tell me word for word exactly how I feel through there own experience is exactly like mine. I hope to learn if anyone else in my class also express their feeling through poetry.
