Reflection Paragraph

Teaching the class today was a good but different experience. I say that because first I don’t really like standing in front of people speaking, and I had to read which I dislike with a passion. I feel that it was I did a pretty good job for my first time teaching, but I felt a little embarrassed because the links and things didn’t go the way that I wanted them to. Thanks to my group and my knowledge we switched the assignment into something different and kept the project going. Over all I think that this was a good assignment, I like this project and I think that we should do it more often because it will help us, as a class be better at presenting in front of people.

During life I have met a lot of different people. I have met people who have only been around for a season. People that have taught me many things on life, being at San Pasqual Academy I have learned the way certain people are, and the certain people I want to be around. Some things I have learned are “you can not trust every one” and to me this means that I have to be careful what I say to certain people, because the moment one person says something to another it can get flipped into something completely different and that is how drama gets started. Also I learned the best way to stay out of drama at SPA is to limited friends who don’t really open their mouth, and to keep a lot of thing to your-self. I say to keep things to your-self because if it gets out you can only be mad at your-self because you’re the one that said something. Also I say to keep a journal or play a sport. I do both because I love to get my anger out in basketball, but I also like to write out the things I cant say to people and hope that one day I can share it with them.

Persuading You to Read a Blog

People should read and comment on the freshmen’s blog, because it will help them be better prepared, also it will boos their self-esteem to know that other people care about their work. Everyone can remember when they were freshmen and how everything was different from middle school and difficult. It will be good for them to have special feed back so that they will know what to do better or what they can keep the same. Also because the freshmen lookup to the sophomores that it will be good for the freshmen to know that the sophomores do care and will take time from their busy lives and homework to support the freshmen.

Sophomore

To me what being a sophomore means that I am no longer a little kid but I am not an adult either? To me it is right in the middle and it’s at the point where all of the childish games need to go away and people need to start taking responsibility for their actions. Being a sophomore means that there is only two years left to have fun and make as many mistakes as possible, because if we don’t do it now we will get to old and start to have regrets.

I can relate to the “Grape Sherbet” poem because I know the feeling of trying to remember something that just is not quite there anymore. The phrases that me imagine this poem are, “Dad appears with a masterpiece swirled snow, gelled light”, also “He fights a smile, his cap turned up so the bib resembles a duck”, those are some phrases that help me. Imagery helps a reader to understand by using there senses, sight, touch, smell, hear, and taste. By using these it helps the reader know how the writer/ author feels about the story, and to understand the character.

Memorable Valentine's Day

A Valentine’s Day, that I remember I was in the seventh grade, and it was my first Valentine’s Day here at San Pasqual Academy. I remember it like it was yesterday. I woke up and got ready for school as usually, but instead of getting on the bus I went to the office. I watched as the bus left, and waited for my staff Denise to come, and we were of to the Orthodontist. I waited in the waiting room from the nurse to call my name. Thirty minutes later I was called into the back. They put me in this room with 3 other nurses strapped me down, and put a mask on my face. They told me to count down from 100, and the last number I remember id 95, and I think I count that same number like six times. Then I was out like a light. When I woke up my mouth was full of gauze and I could barley open my eyes. The nurse helped me get to the car and I slept all the way home. When I got back I stayed in girls 3 till my house opened. When I was able to go home even though I just got my wisdom teeth pulled, my house had this huge meeting about me being a drama queen, and that is how my Valentine’s Day went, and that is the one I remember the most.

"I am Offering This Poem" Emotion Paragraph

The emotion that “I am Offering This Poem” by Jimmy Santiago Baca express is love. For example, he says “I have nothing else to give you, so it is a pot of yellow corn to warm your belly in winter, it is a scarf for your head, to wear over your hair, to tie up around your face, I love you” the poem itself, this shows that love is amazing. In love addition he is say that love is all a person needs, this shows that the smallest thing can become the biggest in life. That’s what the emotion in of this poem is love.

These statements are logical because people need to know what is, and what was. For example, people need to learn were they come from, and what people had to go through so that they have the freedom to be where they are in their life. Entering the Poets world, I think that she wrote this poem and published it because, she wanted to let other people form generations to generations know that everything that they do now will affect the future. But also the things that people have done in the past are the reasons why they are at a certain place in their life. For an example, if I was the poet I would have published this because of the same reasons that she did to let other generations know the truth. This poem made me feel different about life, because it made me realize that I take advantage of my life.

In the poem "Heart! We will forget him!" the speaker, speaks directly to her heart as if it were another person, a possible reason she talks to her heart seperately could be because it is separate. People say that hearts have a mind of theeir own and I think that, that is true. I think that maybe her in her long time boyfriend broke up and she was have a hard time moving on. Personification is when a write an unanimate object the characteristics of a human. The author uses personification, using personification toward her heart help her to cope, brcause she is talking to it as if it was something real, maybe to get it out. On way I can relate to this poes is I have been in that situation and I know how it feels.

A time that I felt like I needed a new look was when I got out of a really hard relationship. I felt like a needed a new look physically because I felt that I had to prove to my-self that I can move on past that and that I didn’t need a guy to complete me. I needed a new look emotionally because I knew that if I wanted to get try a new relationship I had to be completely over my ex. I did not feel like I needed to impress anyone nor did I want attention I changed for me, to better my-self. Something’s I did was, change my style, I wore different clothes for about two weeks but then I got the attention I did not want. Emotionally I tried to open my eyes more to see the world also I kept telling my-self that he was not important and that I wasted years for nothing. But now looking back I didn’t waste years he just better prepared me for future. I am now happy with my life and I would not change anything from my past because my past is what got me to the place I am now.

Imagery in a Song

The song the represents imagery in my life is called “Up” from Justin Bieber. A piece of imagery is when he says “We can make the sun shine in the moonlight, we can make the gray clouds turn to blue skies” is meaningful to me because he is basically saying that in the dark time there are possible things that can happen. Another part is “We'll take it to the sky past the moon, through the galaxy” which to me means that nothing in life is impossible and that nothing is out of reach. A part that I really like that means a lot to me is “Baby we were underground we're on the surface now, we gonna make it girl I promise, if you believe in love, and you believe in us, we can go nowhere but up” this part has a lot of meaning in my life because he is saying that they were down and so low but with love they were able to grow above that and they are able to keeping moving forward. Like in my life I have been so down at time but I believed that I can make it above that and I have so there is nothing to do but keep moving forward, or in this case keep moving up. When I hear this song especially, when I am feeling down it makes me want to keep going knowing that I can rise above what ever I was gong through.

"A Storm in the Mountains” One with Nature

One time I went to the beach when I was younger, and my cousin went to play in the water. I was sun tanning and I was looking around at all the people there. I way laying listening to the seagals and tuning everyone out. I felt the warmth of the sand underneath my body like a sunggle blanket. At that time I felt one with nature I felt like I could just wash away witht the water. The name of my poem is “What I Love About You” by Crystal Jansen, people should read this poem because it shows a lot about love also it have a lot of imagery. People may not want to read this poem because it is about love and not a lot of people especially males have a big problem with love poems, but they should still read it because it shows character and it may bring up emotions that people didn’t know was there. People don’t take the time to do something out of the ordinary but guys and girls should both take the time to try, how will people know that they don’t like something if they never tried it. The best part about the poem is that even though it’s a love poem it’s really something extra sweet and for girls its sweet for guys and also it would be unexpected to read a love poem to a guy.
