Dream House Paragraph with Imagery

My dream house is a three story mansion. When looking at my house from the outside you see a white house with pink shudders and a balcony surrounding the second and third story. When walking in to my house you see a mixture of bright vibrant colors that just feels so warm. The taste of clean fresh air will feel your nose. When touching the couch the soft and warmth takes over the body with such a home feeling it will make anyone want to stay to live. The smell of fresh apple pie will fill the nose and water the mouth of who ever walks in. The sound of love and laughter warms any heart that walks into my house. To achieve this dream I will stay in school graduate and do just about anything to make sure this comes true, and I will make sure that the things I want I will be able to do.

Third Quarter Goals Reflection

I have three goals for this quarter. One of my goals for the quarter is to get at least a 3.0 I really want to go for a 3.5 or 4.0. I feel that I can go far if I just put my mind to it and don’t get off track. My second goal is to stay out of drama because being on a campus with 164 kids it can get very hard to stay out of drama but it is not impossible. My third goal is to not get on restriction and stay on the straight path that I am on. I know that doing these things will be hard but they are something that I know that I can do. Some things that I have done to start achieving these goals are turning in all of my work and staying in class as much as possible with out having appointments. Also I have done the best on all of my homework assignment and I have been asking if I need help with something I am really going for A’s and B’s. I need to stay more focus when doing my homework and pay more attention in class and prioritize between work, sports, and school. I have a feeling that once basketball season is over I will be able to achieve these goals better. At the end of the quarter I want to be able to look at my report card and be able to say that I did it that was able to achieve my goal.

Poetry Experience Paragraph

Studying poetry is one of my favorite subjects to learn in school. In poetry there are so many things to learn, like rhythm, and rhyme schemes, and symbolism, I feel that every poem has a meaning and there was a reason why the writer wrote the poem. In the past I have studied poetry in many different ways like reading and analyzing poems, to creating one of my own for school. I love to write out my feeling that is a way I express myself. So I love to write my own poetry and I love reading others because I feel that I can relate to some of the poem that I read. I sometimes feel that I can be feeling something and look on the internet and have someone tell me word for word exactly how I feel through there own experience is exactly like mine. I hope to learn if anyone else in my class also express their feeling through poetry.

Symbolism and Allegory Unit Reflection

Over the past few weeks we have gone over all different types of symbolism and allegory one of the things that we learned from in symbolism was “Through the Tunnel” I think that story had a lot of different symbolism because through out the story the reader experienced a lot of different things with the boy. For example when he went from the safe beach to the rocky beach we as the reader were able to experience the change from child to adolescent. In the “Animal Farm” we experienced allegory. We experienced allegory through the animals and through the reading, for example the animals meant something completely different. My favorite symbolism was “Through the Tunnel” because I felt like I could relate to it more and I felt like I got a better understanding of the story. Studying Symbolism and Allegory has change my thinking to the point were I start looking deeper into what I am reading and to try and figure out the real meaning of things.

“Animal Farm” Character’s Symbolic Meaning Paragraph

In the story “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, the character Napoleon represents Dominance and Dictatorship. For example he has a follower they believe every thing he says “What I say is always true, is that understood.” This shows that people looked up to him and by him saying that it shows that he wants people to follow after him. In addition he had the most loyal side kick Squealer. Squealer will do anything for Napoleon and that is why he is loyal to him, even lie for him “Snowball took Napoleons idea and that is why at first Napoleon denied the windmill idea” This shows that even through Squealer was loyal to Napoleon he was very un-loyal and un-trustworthy to all the other animals. People who are like Napoleon and Squealer they are both very bad people to be around and they need extreme help mentally, if they were humans they would be the kind of people like Hitler, because in a way they want to dictate everything they want people to follow them. The pigs on the farm are a lot like people they all know what is right but they still decided to do what is wrong and that is just they way life is.

Animal Farm to the Real World

In the story Animal Farm by George Orwell, when the two pigs Napoleon and Squalor kind of began a dictator ship has allegorical meaning. For example, they both stuck together and they turned all of the other animals on the pig snowball also when they stared to break the rules and changing them to fit what they needed it to say. This represents how in other places and communities people began to break rules and had rules to fit what they need also hoe they alter rules, and they tend to start having people turn on one another even close friends turn their back on one another, Additionally, when every animal believed that what Napoleon said was true and how every animal followed Napoleon as their leader. This represents how people can be very easily influenced and will how people just like the animals in the story can fall into traps when the evidence is staring them in the face they still go with what they think is right. Even though most stories about animals are written for children, this story has a meaning that everyone should know about and should learn at any point in their life so that they don’t fall into any traps.

“Animal Farm” Revolution at SPA

If the students of SPA had a revolution and took over the campus it would be a complete disaster. If the students did take over SPA I would imagine this is how it would be. The students will be free to do what ever they wanted. If the students were to have a revolution the laws would be very lax. This is how it would be all of the students will gang together and go against the staff. But the kids were really creative. They will all talk and come together and plan on a day a Saturday, at 4pm they will all forward a text message to all the other students telling them to run to the auditorium but not every one just have one person stay back. And if every kid ran out the house they wouldn’t know what do. When the staff all start calling and chasing after the kids the one that was left in the house will take the door and lock it, then go and disable the alarm so that they can lock out the staff but let other kids in. The students will run to the auditorium nailing the windows shut and lock the staff in there. So they are free to do what ever they want with out having to worry about staff. And this will they will it will be until the staff get smart and learn how to break out, or until they call the police.

San Pasqual Academy Dragons Symbolism

The mascot for San Pasqual Academy is a “Dragon”. To me a dragon represents strength. Also it represents the ability to bounce back from obstacles and gain respect. A dragon represent that we are fearless, and that we will put up a fight not only through sports but also through life. That is why being a San Pasqual Academy “Dragon” is the best thing in the world, because when you’re a “Dragon” you are resilient and nothing can hurt you but you’re self. That’s why I don’t understand why people don’t take the fact that they are “Dragons” and change the way they are. “Dragons” are not scared of anyone or anything. I feel that we has foster youth should take that and put it into our life. What I mean by that is we shouldn’t give up because we are going through obstacles; we need the mentality of a dragon through out life.

“Through the Tunnel” Foster Youth Initiation

Even though they don’t have to swim through a tunnel like Jerry in “Through the Tunnel” by Doris Lessing, foster youth are initiated into the foster care system once they are taken and placed into the system. Most people like me were really unprepared. Being taken away from my family was the most life changing experience both negative and positive. There are certain things that I when through first feeling helpless, and lonely. Second after feeling lonely, was feeling unaccepted and un-normal wanting nothing more but to feel normal. Third lost and that is when the anger comes feeling like your family does not want you. Feeling that no one wants you and the anger comes through the pain of feeling neglected. As a result of this initiation, good things can come from it. New relationships can form and you can begin to see you’re self differently, as a positive person who can accomplish anything. After people get past the wanting to be normal and get passed the feeling of neglect they have official been initiated and once they accept that, they can turn it around and change their ways.

"Through the Tunnel" Prompt A

In “Through the Tunnel” by Doris Lessing I do find it very convincing that Jerry took a risk and survives. I was scared because I was afraid that he might die. When he got is cut on his head I thought that it might be over. Also when his chest started hurting even though I was reading it, it felt so crazy because I thought that it was real, I felt like I was in the water with him. The fact the he survives was a complete twist to me, I really thought that we was a going to die and that no one would be able to find him. I thought that there wasn’t going to be an end to the tunnel. In “Through the Tunnel” it really showed that if you just believe your-self that you can do anything that you want, also that anything is possible.

“Through the Tunnel” Prove Yourself Paragraph

When I was 7 years old I was at my Aunt’s house and I was determined to do a back flip on the trampoline because all of my older guy cousins were doing it. They were making fun of me for being too scared and they said if I didn’t do it then I couldn’t jump on it. So I go on the trampoline and I jumped twice when up but I got scared and didn’t do it, and they started laughing at me. I almost started crying but I women up at I decided that I was not go to be scared because I realized I couldn’t get hurt because it would just bounce back. I told then if they wanted me to do it that they had to get off. Not believing that I would do it they all got off. I jumped three times to make sure I was high enough and flipped when I landed I slipped. They started laughing at me because I feel I was upset but at the same time I was happy because I proved to them and myself that I wasn’t scared and that I could do it. Now looking back at it I laugh myself because I was making it bigger then it needed to be. (words:216)

House Symbol

The Lions symbolizes our house which is Girls 102. To most people, this item is just a picture of lions. To us, it represents family and order because in our house Bob and Debbie would be considered the Lion and Lioness also known as the leaders of the pack. We stick together just like in the wild we hunt together and protect one another from others. They guide us to make the right decisions just like the lion and lioness will have to do also Bob and Debbie will go to any extent to protect the girls in their house, just like the lion and lioness will for their cubs in the wild. Our house is the brightest, strongest, pack in the wild also known as San Pasqual Academy

Third Quarter Goals

My greatest accomplishment of the 2009-2010 school year was achieving a 3.5 G.P.A. My greatest personal accomplishment of 2010 was moving on to better things in life. To accomplish my school goal I studied hard and turned in my homework. I stayed focus and I thought about my future and what I wanted out of life. To accomplish my personal goal it took a really long time but I opened my eyes to see what else was out in the world. My Goal for this Quarter is to get back on track with life and achieve a 3.5 G.P.A again.

Three things I will need to do to achieve this Goal.
1. I will be able to stay more focused in school because I am happy with my personal life.
2. I will pay more attention in class and study hard so that I understand what I am learning.
3. I will take more notes in class and ask for help on things I don’t know.

Winter Break Narrative

My most memorable day of this vacation is Christmas. This Christmas was one that I will never forget. I got woken up by the middle school kids in my house. I went to go open my presents. I was happy when I opened up my second pair of Jordan’s, I was really happy when I found out that I got the first season of GLEE. The first thing I did was put it on TV. Around 8:00 am I went to go get dressed to go to the café because they were serving brunch. After I got dressed I went to the café and I sat with Shaurice, Marcus, Andrew, Aryon, and Shrray. After that we all went to boys 105. at boys 105 we watched the boys play video game. During that time shaurice got kicked out of boys 105. at 5:30 Shaurice ate dinner at my house. Debbie cooked stake and shrimp it was delicious. After that we went to the gym and I watched as Shaurice, Marcus and a group of other students played basketball. Then I hung out with Andrew and Tashanna out front then I went to girls 9 and I gave Andrew his gift before he went home. Shaurice, Marcus, Sharray, and I went up to girls 9 and we watched “Easy A” it was my first time watching it. I had fun talking to the staff, Kristen she is one of my favorite staff on campus. It was 9pm and the movie was almost over not I asked Debbie if I could stay longer to finish it, As Sharray and I were walking home it started to rain I got really upset because I was were my new purple and black shoe and they were getting wet. So we started running and I ran into a tree because it was dark and I couldn’t see. When I got home I took a shower and put back on GLEE, and that’s how my Christmas went. ( Word 331)
